Musical & Theatre Groups

The Amber Hall is the perfect space for both theatre companies, orchestras or bands to showcase their talents.

Our well proportioned stage measurers 6.3 meters in depth and 7.5 meters in width so there is plenty of space for thespians to tread the boards or a band to set out their kit.

The stage is equipped with professional lighting, a PA system, radio microphones and blackout curtains. The projector and large 3metre screen are cleverly positioned to allow digital images to be displayed without any interference from on-stage performers.

The rear of the stage is accessible from the outside of the building via double doors. Two changing rooms are located to the side of the stage to enable actors to change costumes or store props and belongings.

If you require extra backstage space, the neighbouring Sports Pavilion meeting room can often be hired from Ashover Parish Council (subject to availability). The stage can then be accessed through the adjoining door that links the Pavilion to the rear of the stage.

In the early stages of production, the Fabrick room provides a value-for-money space for script run throughs and rehearsals.

The kitchen is fully-equipped and has a hatch into the Amber Hall, which is perfect for serving hot drinks and snacks in the interval. Or, if you prefer a more adult affair, the licensed bar can be opened at times that co-incide with your production's intervals.

The Amber Hall can easily seat 170 audience members, so all you have to worry about is selling the tickets!

We are always happy to help promote public events and will post information in our news section, Facebook and Twitter pages. We will, where possible, also display posters and flyers in and around the centre.

Festivals
The layout of the centre makes it an excellent venue for music and dance festivals. The Amber measures 16 meters in length and is licensed for 200 people.  The smaller Fabrick and Rattle rooms offer ideal spaces for workshops and classes as part of a larger festival.

Block bookings (e.g Friday to Sunday) are welcomed and overnights stays in the centre can usually be arranged. Any overnight bookings must be applied for in writing to the management committee who will consider all applications carefully.

Our fully licensed bar can be opened at times to suit your event and offers a wide range of reasonably priced beverages.

The nearby field, which is used as the showground for the annual Ashover Show, can be hired as a campsite (subject to availability).  The neighbouring sports pavilion has a shower block and toilets which can be hired (subject to availability) from Ashover Parish Council to complement a festival booking. If you would like to explore either of these options please contact us and will help you to get in touch with the relevant people.
